All in all, not a bad read. But I don't really get the stellar ratings (ah-ah) it got. What's in it to go crazy about? Sure, the heroine is fun. The boyfriend-to-be not so much, but he has his drool-worthy moments. So does almost every other male character in this book, to tell the truth. In this second episode there isn't as much infodump as there was in Magic Bites, but the lenghty explanations still bothered me and slowed down the plot. And the tortoise. I don't know if I can ever forgive Andrews for the tortoise. I think that has been one of the most heartfelt WTFs of the last 30 books I've read.
